Mythic Opulence
This guide assumes you are familiar with the Heroic version of the fight. As such, I won't discuss how Heroic mechanics work, and will focus exclusively on the Mythic mechanics, changes, and strategy. If you need a refresher on Heroic mechanics, click here.

Mythic Changes
  • Most of the jewels are tuned down a little
    • Most notable ar Ruby and Amethyst
    • Ruby’s debuff duration on targets is reduced from 5s to 2.5s
    • Amethyst’s Shadow protection applied to targets healed duration is reduced from 60s to 15s
  • New trap during Gauntlet phase
    • Arcane trap - every 30s, two random people per side get a 5s debuff
    • At the end of the debuff, these players are swapped to the opposite side of the guantlet
    • You always appear at the location of someone from the other side who was swapped
      • Player X on Left Side swaps places with Player Y on Right side.
      • Player X appears at Player Y’s location, and likewise, Player Y appears at Player X’s location
    • Healers and tanks cannot be swapped
    • This comes with some bad timing overlaps, including during Flames of Purification and Crush
    • Importantly, immediately after being swapped, you gain a debuff causing you to take no damage (And deal no damage). This effect is removed as soon as you move.
      • Utilize this to prevent deaths from shitty overlaps
        • You CAN still get debuffs, including the debuff from Flames of Purification. This debuff will still hurt you once you move. This becomes a judgement call. If you’ll get 1-2 ticks, just stay still with your “0 damage taken” debuff. If you’ll get 3+, best move back to the group
      • Also note - you CAN be swapped WHILE you have a debuff like Volatile Charge. This effect will swap with you, and affect the side you land on.
      • Again, communication is key. Make sure to be vocal if you’re being swapped while you have a debuff
  • New Opulence ability - Surging Gold
    • 2s cast, causes all pools of Liquid Gold to expand significantly
    • This lasts 30s
    • This is cast 40s after the completion of the previous cast
    • The expanded Liquid Gold pools do regularly overlap with new Liquid Gold debuffs
  • Spirits of Gold
    • These adds now gain a buff when standing in Liquid Gold
    • Heal 5% of max health per second, and gain 50% movement speed
  • Coin Shower
    • Damage significantly increased

Mythic Strategy
  • Recommended comp - 2 tanks, 4 heals, 14 DPS
  • Split gauntlets just like on Heroic
    • Healers MUST dispel Hex of Lethargy ASAP
    • The only difference on Mythic is the Swap mechanic. It doesn’t seem like a lot, but it’ll screw you
    • The selected Swap targets MUST ensure they’re in a safe position when the 5s debuff expires
      • If you aren’t safe, the person that swaps to your position will most likely die
      • Extremely important for the players on the right-hand side of the gauntlet with Flames of Purification
      • It’s extremely easy to kill the person swapping with you
      • Communication is key. Ensure the people on the left-hand side of the gauntlet know when Flames of Purification is occuring, so they’re ready to avoid it when swap happens
    • Make sure to keep communication open between the sides on the speed at which the mini-bosses are dying
      • If one gets to the Jewel room before the other, this can cause problems with Swap
      • Example:
        • Right-hand side gets to Jewel room while the left-hand side is a full room behind, and continues nuking boss
        • Swap happens when the boss is 1% away from pushing
        • The players that get swapping INTO right-hand room have ~2s to grab their jewel. If they don’t, or can’t, these people cannot get a jewel at all.
        • You want to avoid this at all costs. The Jewels are far too valuable to have people missing them
    • Jewels
      • Tanks both take Diamond, their only option
      • DPS
        • 3 take Ruby. These should be non-casters, either melee or hunters
        • 2-4 take Topaz. The more with Topaz, the higher potential uptime.
          • Maximizing uptime is tedious and requires micro-managing
          • Recommend just have 2 people take the Topaz
          • Primary goal for these people is to not overlap, but both have their 100% crit buff active during Bloodlust. More info on this later
        • Rest of DPS take Opal
      • Healers
        • 1 healer per side take Amethyst. These should be people constantly hitting many people, as the Shadow protection buff now only lasts 15s
        • Holy paladins work great, due to Judgement of Light applying the Shadow protection
        • Other 2 healers take Sapphire
    • Manage DPS closely, try to keep the mini-bosses in the same rooms from their respective sides
    • Drop Volatile Charges off to the sides of the room
    • Kite the Ruby Beam in a small circle, or along a side wall, to minimize the amount of space lost to fire
    • Kill the adds at the same time
  • Opulence
    • Due to Surging Gold, managing Liquid Gold pools becomes much more important
      • Utilize as much space as possible
      • The first few Liquid Gold pools should be dropped off on the side bridges, as far out of the way as possible
      • ALWAYS do whatever you can to drop Liquid Gold pools at the edges of the room.
      • As the phase goes on, and you run out of room, utilize whatever tools you have. Speed buffs to get to the edges + immunities to get back are good options
      • This serves as a soft-enrage type mechanic. You must kill the boss before you run out of room
    • Coin Shower
      • This deals 3.2 million damage, split among everyone hit, and cast every 35 seconds. If you have every available person soak - the offtank, and every non-liquid gold and non-topaz player, you’d have 13 to soak. That’d be 250k damage to everyone hit. This’ll wipe you
      • Instead, utilize immunities. BoP makes the target immune, since it’s Physical damage
      • If you have no BoPs left, and the target doesn’t have an immunity, sacrifice them and cut your losses. Losing 1 person is better than wiping the raid.
    • Spirits of Gold
      • These need to die before they touch any Liquid Gold pools.
      • Set up a stun/root/grip rotation to ensure they don’t get far away.
      • This is cast every minute
    • Lust on the 2nd set of Spirits of Gold
    • Tanks need to swap based on their Diamond buff so they don’t die to Coin Sweep
      • This is cast every 11s, and deals 476k Physical damage
      • Swap when your Diamond buff runs out, and ALWAYS have AM up for the hit
      • The one exception is for the disgusting creatures known as Brewmaster Monks
        • These jerks can handle every one of these, because Stagger is dumb
        • If you have a BrM, let them just tank Opulence the entirety of phase 2
    • Wail of Greed
      • This really freaking hurts on Mythic. Over the 10s, with the Shadow resistance buff, this deals 300k damage to everyone in the raid
      • You’ll need healer CDs assigned to this. 2 CDs per cast
      • This ability is cast every 1 minute 15 seconds after engaging Opulence
      • If anyone does NOT have the Shadow resistance debuff, they die instantly
    • Jewels
      • Players with Ruby must ensure they’re hitting Opulence constantly. The damage taken increase debuff only lasts for 2.5s, so keeping that refreshing and increasing is extremely important
        • Ruby does stack infinitely on the boss
      • Topaz players should manage their stacks to ensure one person hits 100 when Bloodlust is cast, and the second person hits 15s-20s after Lust is cast
        • Lusting on the second set of Spirits lines up to be about 100 seconds after Opulence becomes active
        • As soon as you begin attacking Opulence, one assigned Topaz player should step out of the group and begin gaining stacks
        • 20s after that, the 2nd Topaz player should step out to begin gaining stacks
        • If done properly, you’ll have near perfect uptime on the 100% crit buff for Bloodlust
        • Additionally, the boss will be taking double damage due to Ruby stacks. GG
      • Amethyst players MUST ensure everyone in the raid has the Shadow resistance buff for Wail of Greed. Anyone missing the buff dies from the first tick
    • Important note - If lusting when recommended here, at the 2nd set of Spirits of Gold, you do NOT want people using 2 or 3 minute cooldown when you first pull Opulence, or they won’t be available during lust
      • Use 2 and 3 minute cooldowns when you enter the last room with the Mini bosses
    • After lusting on the 2nd set of Spirits, boss will melt. Keep Liquid Gold pools out of the raid, sacrifice Coin Shower targets as needed, keep Ruby stacks on the boss, and GG
